24 Tiny Habits That Will Transform Your Life in 2024

You don’t decide your future. You decide your habits, and your habits decide your future. — Dr. Mike Murdock

Without wasting time, let’s jump on the tiny habits.

  1. Move your body. Make it a habit of moving at least 10,000 steps a day.
  2. Spend more time with your pets because they always give you unconditional love.
  3. Hug your partner at least 15 seconds per day.
  4. Use a 4×6 note card to write your goals and see every day before you start your work.
  5. Carry your goals in your pocket, place a copy in your car’s glove box, and place a copy you can see daily.
  6. Develop a reading habit. How to do it: here you can start.
  7. I like this quote by Nicholas Cole: create more, consume less, put your creative muscle into action, and create something, even writing for a 2-minute day.
  8. Do something just for fun. For example, I love to go on hikes; however, my best hobby is reading books.
  9. Surprise your partner with a date night.
  10. Prioritize at least 8 hours of quality sleep.
  11. Always keep something on your calendar to look forward to, for example, a trip.
  12. Don’t forget to call your old buddy. Friends are there who love you despite knowing all of your flaws.
  13. Listen more, talk less — there are areas where we have two ears and one mouth.
  14. Drink more water; I did this 3.78 liters water per day challenge, and it’s just transformed my life.
  15. While brewing coffee, I meditate for 3–4 minutes; you don’t need any fancy mat, just put your ass on the floor and relax, take deep breaths; that is all it needs, then you will develop a habit slowly.
  16. Get vitamin D if and only if you do not have enough sun in your area.
  17. Read Deep Work by Cal Newport to develop deep focus. You can accomplish a lot with more focused work.
  18. Do not take your cell to your bedroom and office (home office) unless you are a sales professional or someone’s work depends on your phone. It’s nothing but a distraction.
  19. Do 3–4 heavy workouts per week to live a quality life.
  20. Absolutely no screen time 2–3 hours before bedtime.
  21. Absolutely no caffeine at least 6 hours before bedtime.
  22. Develop a reviewing habit, at least once a week, where you are heading.
  23. If you are facing a hard time saving or seeing where your money is going, develop an Excel sheet. I use Google Sheets to plug in everything: earnings, spending, investing; it’s game-changing to look at the actual numbers.
  24. If you are lazy and having a hard time waking up in the morning, print the following one and place it next to your bed or work; it will give you an extra boost to kick-start your day.

At dawn, when you have trouble getting out of bed, tell yourself: “I have to go to work–as a human being. What do I have to complain of, if I’m going to do what I was born for–the things which I was brought into the world to do? Or is this what I was created for? To huddle under the blankets and stay warm?”

–But it’s nicer here…

So you were born to feel ‘nice?’ Instead of doing things and experiencing them? Why aren’t you running to do what your nature demands?

–But we have to sleep sometime…

Agreed. But nature set a limit on that–as it did on eating and drinking. And you’re over the limit. But not of working. There you’re still below your quota. You don’t love yourself enough. Or you’d love your nature too and what it demands of you. People who love what they do wear themselves down doing it, they even forget to wash and eat. — Marcus Aurelius
