A recent paper published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology shows that moderate coffee consumption is directly associated with lowering the risk of death and tremendous health benefits.

This article is an extension based on my previous research and especially to start consuming coffee after a long break; as you may know, I am a huge fan of 30 days challenges to build sustainable healthy, and productive habits.
So far, I have completed 18 challenges (30+ days each), and here is the list.
In fact, I did a challenge to drink absolutely no coffee for 30 days. That was one of the hardest challenges, as I used to consume a lot of coffee.
I would also like to point out that I consume only black coffee, and this article is also based on the consumption of black coffee. Personally, I don’t like to add milk or sugar.

No one wants to develop a neurodegenerative disease, especially those who have witnessed a family member suffer.
Parkinson’s disease is associated with a decrease in dopamine. Because caffeine increases dopamine levels in the brain, research shows that drinking black coffee lowers your chances of developing Parkinson’s disease.

According to this research paper (Coffee Consumption and the Risk of Depression in a Middle-Aged Cohort…), a study of 14,000 Spanish university students, those who drank at least 4 cups of coffee per day were 20% less likely to be diagnosed with clinical significant depression.

Coffee consumption also helps to lower your risk of colorectal cancer.
Drinking 4–5 cups (daily) of black coffee reduces the risk of colorectal cancer by 15% and liver cancer by 40%.
And given that liver and colorectal cancer are the third and fourth leading causes of death worldwide, this is significant.
Coffee also reduces your risk of skin cancer by about 20%, especially in women.
