Friends always ask me, how I have so much energy and why I’m never tired? I mostly smile and say I drink at least 2.5 liters of water per day and that’s my main source of energy. It’s well known in the family and friends that if you feel tired, do not ask him because he will suggest drinking water.
I would like to share that I do not do something special to keep up the energy all day. It’s how I function; I usually go to bed at 2 am and up again at 8 am max. I think 6 hours of sleep is enough for my body to work at its peak.
The recommended amount to sleep for an adult is at least 7 hours, but I get tired if I stay in bed or sleep even more than 6 hours. My body functions excellent if I sleep around 6–6:30 hours. Okay, enough about me; now let me share why I never get tired, and you might copy/paste the same strategy to emulate the results. Here I am going to reveal my secrets.
Do not sleep with your cellphone at night
What does it mean? I mean, do not take the cell phone to your bedroom that simple. But I can tell you guys, and it’s tough to implement. So what is the solution? How will I wake up if there is no phone in the bedroom? It means there is no alarm. I got you!
Get a Physical Alarm Clock
Yes, a physical alarm clock; I think this is the game changer to get optimal sleep. I use this clock, and it’s a primary wooden clock. I must say it’s doing a fantastic job. There are 39000+ reviews on Amazon about this clock. Here is the affiliate link if you want to try this out.
Here is one of the reviews.
“This digital clock is exactly what we were looking for! We didn’t even realize how bad the humidity was in our bedroom until we got this. Now we run a humidifier at night and feel so much better! Love this. Going to purchase a second one for the other bedroom. Oh plus ….the reason I got this one is I loved the way it looked. It did not disappoint!”
No Caffeine at least 6 hours before going to bed
Here my reading habit is paying me back; I picked this habit from one of my favorite books called, Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker, Ph.D.
I know it’s imperative to drink 2–3 cups of coffee each day, at least for me. I feel it’s more like a habit than actually boosting my energy. I read a lot of papers to perceive that coffee stays in our bloodstream for a long time.
Yeah, we know that it will not affect us, but it works on our neurotransmitters and in the brain in many different ways; as I said that I consume 2–3 cups, sometimes 3+ each day but do not consume any caffeine product at least 6 hours before going to bed. However, I got a pretty slick solution, and I drink decaf. It helps trick the brain, and believe me; the smell is the same as real coffee.
Kindle
As I said, I love to read a lot; that’s how I get ideas. Kindle is a game-changer; as I mentioned in Step 2, I do not take a cell phone in my bedroom. But there is a kindle with a warm sleep kind of light. I devote 25–40 minutes to reading while lying in bed.
There are only three things on my bedside table: kindle, physical alarm clock, and water bottle. Then I just shut my eyes. This is a massive tip. I suggest you try at least a week to see the results.
Go pitch black (Dark Bedroom)
Again after reading a few research papers, I concluded that the darker the room, the better the sleep. This means you try to turn off all the lights and buy some quality curtains. Here are the curtains I use to increase the blackness in the bedroom. It’s working like magic.
These are the best curtains I got on Amazon. Again there are 79000+ reviews on Amazon. Here I’m plugging in an affiliate link from Amazon if you would like to try out a pitch-black curtain tip in your bedroom.
Conclusion
One of the essential functions of the human body is sleep. It helps the body and mind healthier. Learning still happens while sleeping because the brain connects neuron connections between information. If you have any more ways to maximize your energy levels throughout the day, please share them in the comments.
