Amid the pandemic, almost everyone is working from home. There are many benefits to working from home: no commute, saving time, saving on lunch and gas money. If you struggle to stay focused by the endless distractions at the home office, this article is for you.
According to the latest research by WBM, workers are more productive while working from home. The study shows that at least 74% of business leaders responded that working from home boosted productivity by 20%. Employees are happy to spend more time with family and get done more on time.
1- Work under a time constraint
I picked this technique from Carl Newport, writer of Deep Work (Amazon affiliate link), to work under strict conditions. For example, I use the Pomodoro technique to emulate Carl’s strategy to work strictly 50 minutes without any distractions. I highly recommend trying this strategy by focusing 100% on the given task. Absolutely, no multi-tasking!
An interruption, even if short, delays the total time required to complete a task by a significant fraction.

2- Dress-up
Be ready for the office like you used to do before the pandemic. I know it’s pretty easy to work in pajamas but try to get into office dress to increase your productivity massively.
There is just a psychological effect to get into the office dress to accomplish more. Force yourself to be up early, shower, and get into the office dress. It’s like a trick to your brain that it’s time to focus.
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up and never give up.

Bonus Tip: Try to spend less than 90 minutes on your cell phone per day. You can quickly check the screen time to boost your productivity and see how much time you spend on your cell each day.
