A technologically optimistic guy who loves to read whatever comes my way.
Technology plays a pivotal role in our personal and professional lives. Recently, I attended Consumer Electronic Show (CES), and it blew my mind what type of technology is on the way to make our lives more comfortable, especially with the aid of artificial intelligence.
Working in the tech sector also helps me to learn new technologies. As we know, technology is evolving day by day. Whatever technologically advanced device you have will be obsolete in the next couple of months or years.
Reading is super important to stay up to date with all the advancements in our society.
Here are the top 6 books you should read to understand AI at its core. Let’s dive in.
Superintelligence — Paths, Dangers, Strategies by Nick Bostrom
If you can read only one book and don’t know much about AI, I would highly recommend this book.
It’s one of my favorite artificial intelligence books that explains AI at its core to understand the future of humanity and intelligent life. We all know that the human brain keeps us at the top of the food chain.
Did you ever think about what will happen when AI systems surpass human intelligence?
Applied AI: A Handbook for Business Leaders by Mariya, Adelyn, and Marlene
Consumer Electronic Show CES Top Technology Book of the Year
You’ve no doubt read your fair share of media hype, either proclaiming doom and gloom where robots seize our jobs or prophesying a new utopia where AI cures all our human problems.
But what does it actually mean for your role as a business leader?

Here are a couple of questions the book will answer.
If you have questions such as…
How do I distinguish true value from AI hype?
What are the best business use cases for AI established so far?
How do I identify the best business case for AI adoption and evaluate opportunities?
Should I build or buy an AI platform?
How do I find and recruit top AI talent for my enterprise?

How can I facilitate AI adoption within my company?

It’s really fascinating how the author actually identifies the best strategies for human survival and offers a tangible path to prosperity in the modern age of autonomous cars and AI outperforming us in standardized tests.
Super-Powers China, Silicone Valley, and the New World Order by Kai-Fu Lee
Kai-Fu Lee believes China will be the next tech-innovation superpower, and in AI Superpowers: China, Silicon Valley, and the New World Order, he explains why. Taiwan-born Lee is perfectly positioned for the task. — New York Magazine
It’s really a thought-provoking book to share the unprecedented development in the AI world.
Many people believe that AI will impact blue-collar jobs in a massive way. However, Lee also predicts that AI will disrupt not only the blue-color employees but the white collar as well.
Is universal basic income the solution?
In Lee’s opinion, probably not.
Deep Learning by Ian, Yoshua, and Aaron
Written by three experts in the field, Deep Learning is the only comprehensive book on the subject. — Elon Musk
The book is a bit deeper level. It’s not an intro or basics. The book will explain the conceptual background in a mathematical way.
Prediction Machines by Ajay, Joshua, and Avi
This book will help you understand the economic tool using AI.
Prediction tools increase productivity — operating machines, handling documents, and communicating with customers.
Being human in the age of AI
One of my favorite books, by my favorite professor Max Tegmark, MIT, is to understand how AI will affect crime, war, justice, jobs, society, and especially our sense of being human.
I highly recommend reading this book at your earliest. The book will dive in to answer the following question.
What happens when humans are no longer the smartest species on the planet?
The bottom line
Predicting the future is not magic; it’s artificial intelligence. — Dave Waters
