Welcome to the 100-day writing challenge! Start writing because you have something tangible to contribute, and you need to share it within your community to get it out there. Share your ideas with the world! I mostly share what I believe will help people improve their lives.
In the following 100 days, I plan to write 100 blogs. This challenge is open to everyone. I can assist you guys to shorten the process and develop more writing ideas; you’ll never say to yourself, “Oh, I don’t know what to write today?” I’ll outline my 5-steps action plan for achieving this goal in this post.
Note: Step 5 is the backbone to post 100 articles in 100 days.
Step 1: Always start with a title
Are you stumped as to what to write? Perhaps you already know what your topic will be, but you can come up with a thousand various approaches to it. Always start with a title to narrow your topic, and then try to create an outline that supports the title you’ve chosen. Don’t compromise with a generic title; try to come up with at least 3 titles, then ask your friends & family to select the right one if you are struggling. Make a list of specifics and challenge yourself to match that degree of precision when you begin writing.
Step 2: Perfection doesn’t exist in writing
My professor stated, “Sufyan perfection does not exist,” and I vividly recall his comments. I can compare this to my M.Eng thesis, which I completed after working nonstop for two years. I still had to write that I had partially completed the research. Writing, in my opinion, is similar to writing a research paper. There is no way to complete your research 100% at any time. There’s always the chance to tweak things around.
Do not worry about your masterpiece. It’s mostly a mind game; after getting in groovy, you will get that it’s pretty easy to write 500–1000 words daily while also working full-time.
Step 3: Participate in this challenge
Yes, I am serious when I assert that I will assist anybody who requires assistance with writing ideas, overcoming difficulties, keywords search, title selection, and so on. I will take this challenge as a deadline to produce quality and meaningful 100 posts in 100 days. Simply leave a comment, and I will gladly respond. At the end of the 100 days, I’ll provide a report on my progress. I work way better with deadlines than without ones.
Step 4: Habit Developer
If you want to succeed on this platform, you need to develop a writing habit of acting like a professional writer. I can guarantee you that the 100 days challenge will help you grow. To create tiny sustainable habits, you can check this blog for further reading.
Making a habit of sharing one post a day is a key to your victory. I sometimes share two stories in one day. I would suggest start taking baby steps to accomplish bigger goals.
Step 5: Consistency, consistency, and consistency
This is the main obstacle how to being consistent, especially on weekends. I will try to demystify the process by sharing an anecdote.
You need to follow a rigid strategy and stay at least 1–2 days ahead of posts. I mean, always use the Schedule function on Medium — 2 posts are always ready to go — if you get distracted by another project, you can use those posts as a backup. It’s like breathing; no one can survive without it; we breathe all the time. Stick to the plan and reward yourself at the end that will help you keep going.
Bonus: I literally wrote this article with a solid vision and execution plan in an hour.
